PID Filtering

Easy HDTV DVR supports PID filtering with the HDHomeRun. PID filtering allows only the needed parts of the TV transport stream to be sent by the HDHomeRun over the network. This reduces the amount of network traffic.

Enable HDHomeRun PID Filtering

1. Click "Start" to bring up the start menu.
2. Click "Programs"->"HDHomeRun"->"HDHomeRun Setup" to bring up the HDHomeRun setup dialog.
3. Click the "Application" tab.
4. In the "Main Application" drop list select "Other: Registry".
5. Click the "Ok" button to close the "HDHomeRun Setup" dialog box.
6. Click "Start" to bring up the start menu.
7. Click the "Run..." menu item to bring up the "Run" dialog.
8. In the the "Open:" edit control Type "regedit".
9. Click the "Ok" button to close the "Run" dialog and open the "Registry Editor".
10. Navigate to "My Computer"->"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"->"SOFTWARE"->"Silicondust"->"HDHomeRun"->Tuners"->%tuner%, where %tuner% is the tuner you want to enable PID filtering on.
11. Double-click on "BDAPIDFilter" to bring up the "Edit String" dialog.
12. In the "Value data:" edit control type "Enabled" , click the "Ok" button.
13. Repeat steps 10 through 12 for all tuners you want to enable PID filtering on.
14. Close the Registry Editor.
